Hello Parents!
We are so excited that your child is interested in being a part of our school musical this year.
Last year was our third year including a few kids who wanted to be behind the scenes instead of being on the stage performing. This is a great way for your kids to get a taste of what stage crew is like, especially if they want to do it at the Jr. High and High School level.
It has been a great learning experience for both us and the kids.
We learn very quickly that some really want to be there to work and learn while others come to socialize with their friends.
The later, was not very helpful to us and ended up being a very frustrating situation.
We do not want to have to redirect your child everyday for the same situation. Stage Crew is for those who are self starters, do what they are asked and want to be here for the right reasons.
We love our stage crew kids and want them to feel a part of one of the biggest things we do at Snow Horse. We become a team after a few weeks of working together and our job is to build them up and teach them the ways of the stage! :)
Your first opportuntiy to show us that you want to be a part of our stage crew begins once we have started running the show. That date will be determined at a later date.We may bring them in sooner; but it will depend on schedules.
We require you to be able to some to all Mandatory Dates and rehearsals listed on our schedule.
We want to make sure that they will be a good fit and they will want to be a part of our show! Your child will have a 1 week trial run to show us they want to be there and learn or if they just want to be with their friends and socialize. It will be up to them. We will also talk with their current school teachers for their references as well.
We feel like this is necessary for the success of the show and the student experience and will help us be confident in their commitment to help.
They will be expected to come to every rehearsal that we have scheduled with them. This will most likely be M-F now until Performances with the exception to any Holidays/no school days. If there are any changes, we will let you know.
Please do the following:
1. Make sure you are on our Remind APP Text @snowhorse to the number 81010
2. I need to know if you have any conflict dates ASAP. Some conflicts may not be accepted. We can not accommodate multiple conflicts. We will do our best to make it work; but if it is too great of a conflict; your money will be refunded.
- Check our Website www.snowhorsemusicals.com and look at our performance dates on our Main Page.
Stage Crew is hard work and a lot of hours the week of Tech/performances. These rehearsals are in the evenings and all are mandatory for stage crew. Your child will need to be available for all of those times. They become part of our Production Team.
3. We want EVERY child to love their experience, but also be able to complete the important tasks given to them. If we feel like your child is not willing to complete the tasks involved and is becoming a distraction to the performers, they will be excused from their position or you as their parent will be asked to step in and fill in for them. If that is not an option; then they will be asked to withdraw and your registration fee will be refunded.
Thank you for reading all the way to the end!
