Sign up for Set-Day and clearly fill out the registration form. We WILL NOT release tickets until all volunteer spots are filled. Please don’t make us chase you down.
We are so excited for Mary Poppins Jr.! Due to growing numbers and EVERYONE wanting to be in the musical, our number of participants is still limited. Therefore, registration forms will be evaluated on a first come first serve basis; based on your registration and payment completion time. Audition videos will be submitted separately and accepted until the deadline. ONLY THE REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT ARE REQUIRED TO SECURE YOUR SPOT WITHIN THE CAPACITY ALLOWED. All fees need to be paid BEFORE the cast list is released on Nov. 27th after school before Thanksgiving Break. IF you have not paid your fees or talked to the principal to make arrangements for a fee waiver; your child will not get to participate.
Registration Form and Fee, Scholarships (fee waivers) and Audition Videos are due by Friday, Nov. 15th 11:59pm.
REGISTRATION FORMS: This year our registration form is attached to your registration payment in our pta store. Please visit https://snowhorse.memberhub.com/store to fill out your registration and secure your child’s spot in the production ASAP.
AUDITION VIDEOS: These need to be attached to the audition Google form found on our website snowhorsemusicals.com. Please see the very specific instructions for auditions on our website. There are a couple of roles that are only speaking parts without solos, but the vast majority sing at least a little. Please consider singing a song so that you may be considered for one of these fun parts! If you want to be considered for a role with a singing solo, you MUST submit a song in addition to your lines. If you are not comfortable having a singing part but would like to be considered for a speaking role, you still must perform a monologue or two of your choice. There are several parts that do not require strong singers or singers at all. We have also included a few dance videos and opportunities to tumble that are totally optional, but will give those kids with dance and tumbling experience a chance to show the judges what they can do! We want you to know that every single one of you will play a special part in this production! *If you experience any difficulties accessing the music or knowing when to begin singing with the performance track, please email us. We are here to help!
FEES: All fees will be paid through our PTA Store https://snowhorse.memberhub.com/store
$50 registration/participation fee **
$15 for a script (All lead parts will be required to purchase a script)
$20-For Stage Crew Participants ONLY----This fee will include your Stage Crew T-shirt
*$15-Mary Poppins Jr. Musical T-Shirt (not required). This is an estimated cost and may change. More Details later
All payments are non-refundable once the cast list has been posted.
FEE WAIVERS: If you feel this is too much for you to afford, we gladly offer confidential scholarships or fee waivers. You simply need to reach out to Dr. Talbot, our Principal, and she will add your child to the PAID list. We do not want the fees to be the reason your child does not participate! We want EVERY child that wants to participate to have the chance! You will then register with the fee waiver form online.
PARENT VOLUNTEERING: All parents will be expected to volunteer! PERIOD! This show can not run without the help of EVERYONE. If your child is cast as a lead in the show, know that you will be expected to be a lead volunteer. Volunteers will need to have a district background check completed as well. This can be taken care of at the district offices in Farmington. We need to be very strict on who is in the building at any given time. THERE WILL NOT BE ANY YOUNGER SIBLINGS ALLOWED. We understand that there will be those of you who have work conflicts; we will be able to find a way for you to contribute (These special circumstances need to be approved by the Production Team ASAP).
6th GRADE STAGE CREW/STUDENT ASSISTANT: We know there are a few 6th grade students that are nervous about being on stage but still want to participate; this is the option for them! Duties of a Stage Crew or Student Assistant include, but not limited to: getting to know the script, reading lines with other students, help the production team by taking roll, or taking notes, helping run the spotlights during tech week and performances, helping with the props backstage, moving props and set pieces during performances. You will receive a T-Shirt that will be worn at all performances. These spots are limited in numbers. Depending on how many kids we get signed up and our capacity numbers; we will contact you if you have been selected. This will also be a first come first serve. You will only need to fill out the registration form listed under STAGE CREW. Understand that this is like a job. Students will not be allowed to disrupt rehearsals and use this time to hang out with cast members. IF we do not know your child; we will be contacting their teachers from last year for a referral. If you are interested in Stage Crew; please email snowhosremusicals@gmail.com and we will get them on our list.
TICKETS: VIP tickets will be purchased through our PTA e-store (Memberhub-Now called Givbacks) when we get closer to performance time. Additional tickets can be purchased online. A link will be given at a later date.
ATTENDANCE: Your child will be expected to be at EVERY rehearsal & ON TIME when they are called. If your child has a prior conflict; make sure you have marked those spots on the Registration Form; we will take that into account when assigning their roles and performance times. Please be aware that after Feb. 24th; any absences not previously approved may result in their role being given away. We understand that this may seem harsh; but absences that we are not prepared for negatively affect the entire cast for that day. We want you to understand that we need your child available for all performance times of both casts. In the event that a child ends up being sick and unable to participate; we will be asking the other cast with the same character to fill in for those performances. We hope that this does not happen; but we need to be prepared.
We CANNOT allow children to participate who have regular morning commitments (with the exception of the Snow Horse Orchestra and Hope Squad).
Each child will also be required to attend all Dress Rehearsals and performances for their cast. We will not allow any switching of performances. If you know you already have a conflict for all those required dates; this may not be for you this year.
Cast Lists are Final. Switching will not be allowed; no exceptions.

REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals will be Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays mornings. Your child may not be called every day, but as we get closer, you may notice more rehearsals. Because we have moved our show to the Spring and we have time, we will try to keep Saturdays Rehearsal free! Be aware that we will be a little more intense as we get closer to the Performances. We will try not to add Rehearsals on Wednesday mornings unless we need them.
IMPORTANT RULES/INFORMATION
Please Discuss with your children before
Rehearsals start.
CHECK OUR WEBSITE/REMIND TEXTS EVERYDAY ESPECIALLY SUNDAY EVENINGS!!
Schedules will be posted on our website www.snowhorsemusicals.com weekly. A REMIND text will be sent out with a link to the schedule. They will be sent out on Saturdays, or Sundays at the latest. Remember we are all volunteers and the schedule changes weekly. Please encourage your child to visit our website and check the schedule. They are all kids who are responsible. Show them how to read the schedule!
Important information or any last minute changes will be sent out through the REMIND text messaging app as well.
Rehearsals will start on time. It is super important that your child is there; well fed and ready to go!
ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD ALLOWED.We cannot have food in the Gym during rehearsals and your child will NOT be able to get breakfast in the cafeteria. Please have them eat before they come.
Cell Phones are not allowed at Rehearsals. Please remind your students to keep them in their backpacks.
Behavior Policy- If your child, including those students on stage crew, are unwilling to listen or obey rules during rehearsals, you will be asked to chaperone at all rehearsals.
We DO NOT tolerate bullying or putting down other kids in ANY FORM!! We are a team and will need everyone to feel confident to put on a great show. Putting yourself out there to act or sing in front of others can be scary, so we need to cheer each other on, not tear each other down.
Attitude is Everything! Please help your child be excited about the part they receive. We will have a double cast to give more opportunities for the kids to shine. We try our best to make every child feel special and shine in some way. We need every one of them to pull off a great show!
Memorization is KEY. If your child receives a speaking part, we ask that you work with your child on their lines every night until memorized. We will check progress at rehearsals and notify you of any concerns. Using nightly reading time for reading over lines has always been helpful!
IF there are any concerns/issues; you may contact the production team in person or through our email. We cannot solve a problem that we are unaware of.
BE KIND and PATIENT and expect the unexpected. We will make mistakes. We are ALL Volunteers!
CELL PHONES NOT ALLOWED at Rehearsals
CELL PHONES ARE NOT ALLOWED AT PRACTICE!
This is breaking a school policy as well as ours. If a child needs to call a parent, no problem. Just let us know and make your call.
Otherwise, student cell phones MUST remain in their backpacks. We have very limited time to teach the kids and we need their full attention.
SCHOOL POLICY ON BEHAVIOR-For Reference
SCHOOL-WIDE POSITIVE BEHAVIOR SUPPORT PLAN Snow Horse Elementary has implemented a school-wide positive behavioral support plan that utilized common language to ensure consistency throughout the school. The purpose of the plan is to increase responsibility, respect, and safety at our school. The Snow Horse Behavior Plan is based on four simple expectations:
o Be Respectful
o Be Responsible
o Be Safe
o Be Kind
Students are positively reinforced in variety of ways, by teachers and administration. Cool Colt Tickets are handed out and collected. Each week administration, pulls these tickets and students are called down to the office for a prize. Discipline Procedures when Expectations are not followed: Our goal is to redirect inappropriate behavior. When dealing with a discipline situation, we do our best to address it in such a way that the needs of the individual student are considered. We believe in involving parents in the discipline process and feel that we cannot be effective in teaching your children appropriate school and social behaviors without your support. Most discipline will be handled by the classroom teacher.
Consequences for inappropriate behavior may include:
1. Oops Tickets followed up by a phone call from the teacher and to be signed by the parent and sent back to the teacher.
2. Conferences with the student and/or parent.
3. Loss of privileges such as recess or assigned recess area
4. Phone calls home.
5. Exclusion from school
6. In-school or out-of-school suspension
SAFE SCHOOL VIOLATIONS As per District mandate, we are required to implement the Safe School Policy. The following behaviors will not be tolerated:
1. Fighting
2. Obscene language/gestures
3. Bullying (physical and verbal)
4. Hazing
5. Controlled or illegal substances or paraphernalia
6. Terroristic threat or threat to harm oneself or others
7. Sexual misconduct, lewdness, or sexual harassment
8. Destruction of school property
9. Weapons – pretend or real
10. Continued diisruption of learning or teaching
We instruct students to go and tell an adult when they see or are involved in conflicts with other children. Students who are involved in a fight, whether they started it or not, will receive disciplinary consequences as per Safe School requirements.
OUR BULLY FREE ZONE!
We would love it if you could have a discussion with your children about building each other up and filling each others buckets with kindness at rehearsals. Our hope is that these kids will make lasting friendships throughout this musical process and feel happy and part of a team. We are a team that cheers each other on and it takes EVERY person to make this a success. We want everyone's buckets to be overflowing after rehearsals and for this to be a fun and positive experience for everyone that participates.
Singing in front of people is a hard thing to do even for the professionals! This is especially hard in the very beginning of a show when everyone is first learning their parts. We want all kids to feel confident and that learning in front of their classmates is a safe place for them--that even on our bad days, they will be cheered for by their teammates!
Recently, we have witnessed a few incidents of bullying during rehearsals--bullying can be saying mean things, teasing, whispering and laughing at others that are performing, and/or embarrassing someone in public . Some of the things we have overheard kids saying about other kids while they are performing are:
"____________ only got this part because their mom helps with the play. They aren't even that good."
"____________ is so off-key."
"Ugh. I hate listening to you sing your solo. It is my least favorite part of the play"
"That was so bad (after someone finished a solo)."
These are just a few of the comments that we are aware of because they have happened in front of us. We hope there are not more going on outside of practice either. It breaks our hearts to watch this kids lose their confidence and not want to be a part of the musical anymore because of one unkind person.
It has made us realize that unfortunately, we need to have a process moving forward of how we will deal with these kind of things IF they arise.
This is our process & consequences after an incident:
We will discuss the issue with your child in the moment when it is seen or when we have had word of such incident. IF it is something Major; we will contact parents at this point.
If the behavior happens again after being asked to stop; we will contact parents and let you know what is happening and ask you help us resolve the issue.
IF that still does not change the behavior and it continues; Your child will be asked to not be part of the musical. We do NOT want it to ever get to this point.
We follow the guidelines that the school has set up and have posted that process below for your reference.
